Nap with a cat

Terry's secret to a fulfilling retirement

Good Morning 🌞

Welcome to another day of Joy Hour

Nap with a cat

Terry Lauerman, 75 years young, has a rather unique way of spending his retirement. Almost every day, he walks to Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary. His mission? Not what you might expect. Terry goes there to nap and play with the cats. This isn't just any hobby; it’s his way of volunteering, making him the sanctuary’s favorite "catnapper."

The cats Terry spends his days with are pretty special. They have disabilities and were rescued from places where they didn't have much hope. Safe Haven gives these cats a second chance, and Terry’s there to make sure they feel loved and happy.

What’s Terry's secret to a fulfilling retirement? "Nap with a cat," he says. It sounds simple, but there’s a lot of joy to be found in such peaceful moments. Terry’s story is a gentle reminder that sometimes, the best way to spend our time is by making a difference, even in the smallest ways.

Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary is a safe space for cats that need extra care, and thanks to volunteers like Terry, it's a place full of love and comfort. Terry shows us that retirement can be rewarding and full of purpose, one cat nap at a time.

I want to be a catnapper now. Who else?
